About

Who we are

We are a state-of-the-art food processing company to meet the growing demand for ethnic food products in the United States. We produce a wide variety of chorizos, morcillas, salchichones and other delicacies such as arepas, tamales, and empanadas, always following the traditional recipes of countries such as Colombia, Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Ecuador, Venezuela and Argentina. At Alimentos de mi Tierra we carefully select the ingredients that enter our processing plant and we constantly monitor them so that the processes are carried out within the highest quality demands without changing the essence of the traditional flavors.

History

Alimentos de mi Tierra was born from the visionary idea of Don Jairo Echeverri, who emigrated from Colombia to New York City in the 1970s. Like all those who come to this country, Don Jairo had his pockets full of illusions, he had great ideas that he wanted to implement and after a long process of adaptation and hard work, he managed to start with the dream that today leads him to be one of the most successful Colombian entrepreneurs in this country. Alimentos de mi Tierra arises from the constant longing of Don Jairo and his family, for their land, their Colombia, for everything that had become memories due to the distances... the delights of home-cooked food that we miss so much when we leave home. His first step was to get the recipe from his mother, who gave him all the instructions he had to follow to achieve the traditional flavor of chorizo that he tasted so many times in his native Antioquia. He made several attempts until he perfected the flavor. Soon, his products were sold in Colombian stores and restaurants, his first customers who, without imagining it, would be a fundamental part of the growth and trajectory of Alimentos de mi Tierra. Due to the cultural diversity of this country, Don Jairo met people of different ethnicities who shared his feeling of longing. Through them, he was able to elaborate the flavors of different Latin American countries, creating a complete range of products for each country. This is how the company grew, gaining market share both locally and nationally and later expanding to most states in the United States. The most recent project, following an expansion strategy, is the opening of the processing plant in Miami, which has the best technology in food processing equipment.
